Remembering to forget

Watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It’s a very good movie… and it reminds me why forgetting isn’t a good thing, how the past forms who you are, forms the choices you make, and without it we are nothing. The present means nothing if there is no past, just a series of events with no connections. We need our regrets, our pain to put everything in perspective. Forgetting means, forgetting the pleasures, the happy things that the person or event that connected to the pain. Lessons learned. I need to keep experiencing, to stop regretting before I’ve even tried.

On the other hand, all of the emotions aside, I really like the way this movie is shot, the lighting, the soft camera focus. I think they portray memories very well.
