How do you say “No more” in bureaucrat?

A very important document.
Taxation without representation?
same as above, a few more details.

Now, for those of you that know me well, you know that I’m about as fond of the government as a dog is of getting fixed; every time I look at my paycheck it feels like the government has my balls in a vise, and have no intention of letting go. Missing almost a quarter of my paycheck has that affect. (In the interests of being honest, 6% of my paycheck goes to a 401k plan, along with the sundry health care, dental, yada yada. So it’s probably closer to 20%.) Yet, even with that refreshing bit of honesty, it could be just 5% of my paycheck, and I still probably wouldn’t be happy, at least with the way things are ran in Washington. Consider this quote from Kate Szostak, a staffer on the Banking Committee:

“This is not a controversial provision or a new one. Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Finance Committee have supported it for months, and it has been included in the Administration’s budget proposal for years.”

And this is supposed to make me feel better why? Consider the aforementioned mongrel having his balls snipped. Hell, even PETA accepts getting your dog fixed (I think, but who knows what those wacky Animal people are thinking?), but does that mean the dog is happy about how “uncontroversial” the procedure is? I bet if you asked him, he wants his balls firmly in place, thankyouverymuch. Yet, he gets his balls snipped without anyone asking how he felt. I feel like the above bill is very much the same thing. The funny thing is that these SIAs are supposed to be representing YOU and ME. Instead, we elect them, and then they do what they can to make sure they stay elected. No, I can’t think of any examples. (I cheated right there; cribbed from Wiki.)

So because our illustrious senators are fine with this amendment to the legislation, that means we should be. Right? Well, are you fine with it? Don’t ask me, I’m still trying to figure out this fucking vise. Once my balls are free, I’ll answer.
